Participants take any community problem or opportunity of their choice through the program and develop a project to address it. All of the learning activities that are undertaken during the program focus on progressing participants individual projects.
Flipped Classroom
The Community Leadership Program is delivered in flipped classroom mode. All of the learning materials are provided online for participants to go through at home in their own time. These materials include video lectures, transcripts and podcasts of the lectures, readings, additional videos to reinforce and extend the lecture materials, quizzes and preparation activities for the face-to-face sessions. For the preparation activities, participants apply the concepts, tools and techniques contained in the learning materials to their own project. During the face-to-face sessions participants come together with other active citizens and undertake guided activities to progress their projects. These activities build upon the preparation activities that participants completed at home.
