All of our programs take a project based, social learning approach and incorporate the following key elements of education for sustainability: imagining a better future, systemic thinking, critical thinking and reflection, participation in decision-making, and working in partnerships. During our programs participants develop an initiative to address a community issue of their choice as they work through the program's learning materials. These learning materials are available online which enables participants to undertake a program in their own time. In addition, learning circles are supported so that participants are able to work through the learning materials together.
Community Capacity Builders is passionate about undertaking research that informs the development of its programs. All profits from the delivery of Community Capacity Builders' programs funds research into social entrepreneurship, civic entrepreneurship, active citizenship and systems change. Our research is widely disseminated through conference presentations and publications.
